For students participating with EFFY funded accounts:
To invest with real money from us you must create a brokerage account so we may transfer the money to you. This will require a social security number/tax ID number. If this is not acceptable, you may opt to invest with simulated money (instructions at the bottom of the page).
1. Create a new Charles Schwab individual brokerage account at https://www.schwab.com/open-an-account. This account will be your platform to place trades and view your stocks that we will place your initial starting fund into.
2. Follow the instructions in this video:https://www.schwab.com/content/how-to-add-manage-authorized-user.
This will give us access to your student's account and allow us to monitor trades and activity. *Make sure to choose the "limited access" option. This way we may monitor your student without accessing any personal information.
You may either open a Charles Schwab brokerage account to keep the option to receive funds from us later, or you may create a MarketWatch account (instructions below) for solely simulated money.
1. Create a MarketWatch account (this requires none of your personal information) at marketwatch.com/sign-up.
We will handle the rest during the first lesson.
